Closest full grocery store. Hispanic food market with great prices and a busy meat department. Currently closed due to some complications during a remodel into a fresh market, hopefully back up and running before too long.

Stanley’s Fruits & Vegetables

1558 N Elston Ave. Chicago, IL
(773) 276-8050
Just east of the Kennedy Expressway at North Ave. Long time fruit and vegetable stand that has grown into a giant fruit and vegetable store. Great prices and good selection, Be careful of the “it seems too good to be true” prices.

Whole Foods
1000 W. North Ave. Chicago, IL
(312) 587-0648
Upscale holistic style grocery store. Great salad bar and other foods to go. Great selection of bulk food for cheap prices. Everything else -- not so cheap. Great organic fruits and vegetables, especially if cost is no concern. Great deli, food to go, and meat department.

1767 N. Milwaukee Ave Chicago, IL
Not a huge selection of items, but everything is very inexpensive.  Bring a quarter for a cart!

Trader Joe's
1840 N. Clybourn Ave. Chicago, IL
(773) 274-9733
Cheap prices with an interesting, if not very limited, selection of items. Definitely not your usual grocery store.
